Overview

You will explore the most beautiful destinations in Morocco on this 9 days desert tour from Casablanca.

We will start the trip in the north of Morocco, with stops in Rabat, Morocco’s capital, and Chefchaouen, the blue city. You wil also visit the imperial and cultural city of Fes. Then it’s on to the southeast, where we’ll explore Morocco’s Switzerland, Ifrane, Midelt, and the breathtaking Ziz Valley. As well as seeing the traditional market of Rissani and the fossil town of Erfoud. We will travel to Merzouga in the southeast, where you will ride camels and spend the night at a Berber camp. you will admire the breathtaking sunrise and sunset. In addition, the Todra and Dades gorges, as well as the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, should be visited.

 You’ll also pass through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass and the High Atas mountains. Finally, there will be a guided trip in Marrakech.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Casablanca

Today, we start our 9 days tour from Casablanca. The driver/guide will meet you at Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport and transport you to your hotel/riad.

Day 2: Casablanca - Rabat - Chafchaouen

After breakfast, you’ll visit Hassan II Mosque before heading to Rabat, Morocco’s capital, where you’ll see the Hassan Tower, Mohammed V Mausoleum, and Oudaya Kasbah. We continue driving over the Rif mountains to Chefchaouen after lunch. Uppon arrival, it is advised to hike up the rif mountains, near the Spanish mosque to watch the sunset. Overnight in the hotel.

Day 3: Chefchauen - Volubilis - Fes

On this day, you will have a free morning in Chefchaouen. You will visit Ras El Ma, Weta Lhmam square, and admire the blue walls of the city. After Lunch, we will take the road to Fes. Overnight there.

Day 4: Sightseeing Fes

You will explore Fes with a local guide on the fourth day of our Casablanca 9 days desert tour. Fes, the oldest of the imperial cities, is home to the world’s first university, which dates back to the 9th century, and is one of the most complete medieval cities in the world. It appears to be stuck in a time warp, somewhere between the Middle Ages and the current era, surrounded by massive defensive walls. In the old Medina, you will have a local guide who will take you to the famous tanneries and the Karaouine mosque.

Following lunch at a traditional Moroccan restaurant in Medina, you’ll visit the Merinid tombs and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. Spend the night in a hotel or riad.

Day 5: Fes - Ziz Valley - Merzouga Desert

Today, we travel south-east through the mountains and cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, passing through Moroccan Switzerland Ifrane, a picturesque ski resort, and Azrou, an important handicraft town specializing in cedar wood work. In the afternoon journey, we head to Erfoud via Midelt, Errachidia, and the valley of the 1000 Palms of Ziz, dotted with palm trees. We continue on to the Erg Chebbi sand dunes before arriving at Merzouga. You will ride the camels for 1h and a half before arriving at the desert camp. On the way there, you can enjoy the sunset from the top of the big dunes At the camp, you will spend the night in a Berber tent and enjoy drums played by locals. You can also try sand surfing there in the evening.

Day 6: Merzouga Desert - Gorges Todra - Boumalne Dades

On the sixth day of our 9 days desert tour from Casablanca, we suggest that you wake up early in the morning to admire the sunrise over the sand dunes. After that, return to your camp for breakfast and a shower. We next proceed to Tinghir, passing through Tafilalet, Erfoud, and Tinejdad. We will continue to Todra gorges  via Tinghir after a lunch break. Stopping for photos and savoring the scenery along the route. Arrive in Todra Gorges, where you can hike via its magnificent canyons before arriving in the Dades Valley. Overnight in Dades

Day 7: Boumalne Dades - Ait Ben Haddou - Marrakech

Today, we will visit Kalaa Mgouna, a rose hamlet where over 400 tons of rose petals are harvested each spring to be processed into rosewater or shipped to the perfume industry. Every May, the Rose Festival is held here. Many kasbahs can be seen on the way from Rose town to Skoura. The small hamlet of Skoura is bordered by thousands of palm groves, and it is home to some of the most stunning kasbahs in southern Morocco. We continue our journey to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” with one of Morocco’s largest film studios, and then to Ait Ben Haddou’s kasbah. You will have free time to tour the UNESCO World Heritage site and have lunch in a local restaurant. Later, we go to Marrakech over the High Atlas Mountains (2260m), appreciating the magnificent mountainsides along the way. Arrive late in the day in Marrakech. We check into your accommodation.

Day 8: Sightseeing Marrakech

Today, we’ll start our exploration of Marrakech with a local guide. The city is considered one of Morocco’s four imperial cities. We’ll start with the Majorelle Garden, then go on to the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the Ben Youssef Quranic Mosque, and a stroll through the typical souk in Marrakech’s old town. Lunch on your own at the Jemaa El-Fna square. Later, we will visit Marrakech’s greatest mosque, Koutoubia. Late on the day, you will have free time to explore Jemaa El-Fna on your own.

Day 9: Marrakech - Casablanca

We will transport you to the airport of Casablanca for your departing flight today depending on your departure time. You can also end this tour in Marrakech.
